Thank you to the Chandler family for trusting me with photographing their son’s Beth Tikvah bar mitzvah. It was a wonderful day full of joy and excitement. Mitzvahs have become my favorite type of celebration to photograph over the last few years. It’s a beautiful coming-of-age moment in a young person’s life. There may be some nervous energy to begin the day, but after the ceremony, it’s all fun and games!

The family kept it simple at the party and hired a video game truck to come to Beth Tikvah for the kids. They loved it, of course! The best part of Mitzvah parties is that the kids are having so much fun, they don’t pay any attention to me photographing them. That allows me to capture very natural and genuine moments. That is the reason why I became a photographer. To freeze these real moments in time. Memories that will last beyond our lifetimes.
